Scraps of thoughts, photos and art

I’ve been having some fun at the Virtual Stamp Night at Splitcoaststampers with the theme of “Opposites” for the event. This challenge was to create 2 mini cards with a his and hers theme. The cake is from Stampin’ Up! and the numbers in the side bar are from one of the monthly kits at Simon Says Stamp June 2013. The sketch is using the Clean&Simple Stamping FTL256.

Stampin' Up!

Stampin’ Up! had a great set from Sale-a-bration called Patterned Occasions. I find myself reaching for this set more lately as the sentiment & image are together in one image. Ink and stamp. How simple is that?

I used the Clean & Simple Stamping sketch FTL#252, the CAS-ual Fridays challenge CFC111 to use buttons and the 2nd challenge at Opposites Attract Virtual Stamp Night at Splitcoaststampers. The challenge was a cool one – use the same stamp set to make a masculine and feminine card by just changing the colors and embellishments. I knew the elephant would work great!

Stampin' Up!

I have a BUNCH of Stampin’ Up! stamps and need to use them more. Here’ s a Hostess set called Simply Soft from last year that I used for the first time plus a sentiment from the So Happy For You set. The 2-step stampin’ is nice and I love how it doesn’t have to be perfect to look great!

This card met the Mini Virtual Stamp Night’s first challenge at Splitcoaststampers Opposites Attract VSN – neutrals with a pop of color. The sketch is from this week’s CASE This Sketch #39. The banner die is from Simon Says Stamp!

Stampin' Up!

There was a Mini Virtual Stamp Night at Splitcoaststampers Friday night, so I made this card for one of the challenges.

This DoodleFactory Tropics set is just too funny and it fit perfectly for the Pirate theme of the VSN!

It’s a week away from Mother’s Day here in the U.S. so for all of you Moms out there, hopefully you’ll be enjoying a day of relaxation and love from your family.

Almost 8 years have gone by since my Mom’s passing, so I’ve made this card for her. She loved bright colors and the sunshine. This digital stamp is just so pretty for the card! Hope you like it.

MAY11VSNMINI4 challenge at Splitcoaststampers

Hello to my blog readers. I’ve been a little busy this week – ok, yes, but I haven’t felt like blogging! Maybe because my creativity has been a bit low this week or just maybe I needed a short break.

I’m back creating this weekend and have some projects to share with you.

You may remember me mentioning it before, but there’s a weekly challenge over at the Michelle Perkett Studio Challenge Blog. The challenges are due Monday afternoons, so you have the weekend to work on your project in case your week is full of regular stuff to do. 🙂

This week’s challenge is to use Turquoise and Brown PLUS an image from Michelle Perkett. I also took advantage of a challenge offered at last night’s Virtual Stamp Night at Splitcoaststampers. Fun stuff and I hope you find the time to enter both challenges before Monday!
