A couple weeks ago or so, I posted some cards using the Starving Artistamps Nativity set. I was playing with the set again this weekend and had a lot of fun!
One thing I really wanted to bring into the cards was color. The images on this sheet really lend themselves to making a scene – basically bringing the individual images together so they look like they make one. I was really amazed at the different stamps and how well they mixed and matched – totally fun!
Each card used only Ranger’s Adirondack Dye Inks with just a little Copic coloring on the faces and some Ritzy Ditzy Glitz Spray as a final touch. Here’s how I made the cards below:
1. Stamp the image using dye ink.
2. Using a water-filled brush, pick up ink from the dye ink pad and color the image.
3. After the coloring is complete, use a Duster Brush (similar to a stipple brush but much looser. A stipple brush will work, just watch the amount of ink you pick up with it) to add ink to the large areas around the stamped images.
4. Spray with Ritzy Ditzy Glitz.
5. Trim if needed and adhere to mat and card front. Voila!
Thanks for stopping by today!
I couldn’t resist working more with those cute robots and aliens from the DoodleFactory’s Final Frontier available at Starving Artistamps. I pulled out some Tinkering Ink Blur paper which just seemed to work so well with this set. Bright colors, funky patterns and a of bit techno twist = perfecto!
The ATC that I did a week or so ago turned into the first card. BasicGrey’s Skate shoppe was the background serving Mr. Roboto quite well!
The rest of the cards used Tinkering Ink’s Blur line (boohoo that Tinkering Ink is no longer) and Prism cardstock for the card bases. Their cardstock colors always matched TI’s paper patterns SO well!!
I hope you like them!
Do you remember that song from Styx? Ok, maybe I’m dating myself, but it was such a catchy song in a sort of mechanical way?? 😀
Here’s a simple ATC using all metallic embossing powders from P K Glitz – Gold, Silver Max and Not So Rusted Penny to be exact. All gorgeous colors and too cute for my Mr. Roboto.

Yes, the holidays are coming! Starving Artistamps has released a wonderful Nativity image and sentiment set. I’ll be sharing some creations with you from those sets.
The images are really great! Lots of options for coloring or leaving as is. Lots of options for grouping the images together to make a scene or using independently. Lots of options to include the sayings with the images or just alone. All in all, this is one of the most versatile holiday Nativity sets I’ve ever used!!
Take a look at the first creation. The words are all on 1 stamp. There are actually 3 images in the manger scene, cool eh?

New from Starving Artistamps! Lots of options here for leaving as is, being sparse with the Flower Soft or full on! I’ll definitely be doing more experimenting with these stamps. Can you see the possibilities to make them change with the seasons or holidays? FUN!
