Have you ever made your own stamped background paper?
Well, that’s this week’s challenge on the Michelle Perkett Studio Challenge blog. It’s challenge #56, make your own background paper with a Michelle Perkett Studio stamp!
For my sample, I used some of Michelle’s rubber stamps that I love. I stamped the snowflakes over and over than heat embossed them for a subtle look. That’s all it takes to make your own background paper!
Supplies:
Michelle Perkett Studio rubber stamps available at Faerie Song Art Stamps
Ranger ink
P K Glitz embossing powder

Here are some samples of cards and layouts that I’ve recently done using Ippity stamps.
There was another layout from PageMaps that inspired me to do a page about my Christmas snowglobe collection. The sketch and the Graphic 45 paper actually.
I love the combo of kraft and red, so that’s what I started with as a base here. The patterned paper is so beautiful in color and pattern, that it really popped on this page. I added dimension to the little package in the upper left so that I could wrap the ribbon around without it looking too lumpy. I adhered the paper to some chipboard for stiffness then popped it.
The other patterns have Distress Stickles added as extra bling and texture. I just LOVED using my Stamps of Life stamps for the banner and globe. The big red flower vine plant is a Donna Downey foam stamp accented with Distress Stickles. The snowglobe has some embossing powder inside to serve as the snow.
I really liked all the stitching around the pictures and paper. It adds a nice homey touch.

I attended a wedding in New England in late September, going to Cape Cod first for a couple days. I stayed in the Hyannis/Barnstable area and drove through Chatham and Provincetown sightseeing. While in Chatham, there was this great picture opportunity at the lighthouse. The day was beautiful and crisp – a lovely late Fall afternoon!
I just happened to find a great scrapbook store and purchased some embellishments to use when scrapbooking the pictures that I had just taken. Lucky wasn’t it? The twill and Sinamay ribbon were perfect to convey the old world charm of Cape Cod. I tied one of a zillion sailor’s knots for fun – love that wide twill! Stamping on it was easy since it was so flat and wide. Don’t forget to do that when you have the opportunity!

OK, so I’m a little behind with Project 12 yet again! I strive to catch up with my UFO’s (un finished objects) by the end of the year which includes this project! I’m not THAT far behind.
I am using another beautiful BasicGrey line – Porcelain. Isn’t it gorgeous for this month? I went to England, so it fit the quaint, older feel that I was looking for to match the pictures. It was a great trip!
I included some cool stamping using Ippity Stamps! I stamped on the patterned paper and over the sticker letters then highlighted them with glitter. LOVE how it came out. Don’t forget that I sell Ippity Stamps!
