The large top photo was done using the stitch assist option on the camera. Looks pretty cool! I just love taking pictures of the sunrise at the beach – only a mile from my house. I am truly lucky to live so close, one lucky thing that I try not to take for granted. The morning was beautiful as the sun peeked above the clouds to light up the world.

The letters were done by cutting self-adhesive foam from Sizzix dies. Super easy. Buy those self-adhesive foam sheets at the craft store when they’re on sale, no matter what the color is. The blue used in this page was white originally that I painted blue to match the surfboards. Paint first then cut – works just fine!

So the gorgeous lily photo is courtesy of my Aunt. She actually has this beauty growing in her garden! I added a bokeh texture to the photo giving it that sparkly type of effect.

The page actually has a lot of stamping on it, Ippity stamping to be exact! I used some of the newest kits that I’ve gotten which matched my subject matter. A white gel pen came in handy for accenting.

I recently played around at the Card Universe at Scrapbook News and Review Magazine and won a couple digistamps courtesy of The Stamping Boutique. I got to pick the stamps that I wanted, so I picked a cute schoolhouse to use this Fall. I didn’t have any school themed stamps up until now! Thanks Tracy and Helen for letting me play along and win some cool digistamps.

I must admit that I haven’t played much with digistamps, but I had a bunch of fun with these once I figured out how to print them the size that I wanted! I pulled out my Copics which I’ve been neglecting lately. They still work like a charm!

The Lush line was the perfect base for this page. The flowers are from my “Maple Syrup” friend up North and came at the perfect time. It was a wonderful surprise to get an email from the lobby that I had a flower delivery. Thank you my friend.

Many of the stamps from Unity come already mounted on cling foam AND cut out! It’s really nice that you can remove the cling liner paper and just place the stamp on an acrylic block to start stamping. I found that on some smaller images or phrases, I trimmed a little closer to the image to avoid a shadow from the rubber edge beyond the design. This was simple and easy to do with a pair of scissors.

The “Build a Turkey” set has 8 pieces to it, 2 phrases, 1 turkey body and 5 feathers. The stamp image is a more casual and fun turkey instead of a realistic one. The feathers have 5 different doodled designs within the tear drop shape. The font of the phrases is lower case and casual. The turkey itself is rather comical with a little tilt to his head almost asking the question “why aren’t my feathers attached?”

Where to start with such a versatile set? The obvious place would be with a Thanksgiving scrapbook page, so that’s what I did. To spice up the base page, I stamped one of the phrases included in the set multiple times, then clear embossed it. The phrase has a great font, very easy to read and a good size. The turkey and feathers are a great size also, I love it! The feathers were stamped on the patterned paper and embossed with a glittery clear powder then detailed with a white pen. The turkey body was colored with Copics for a little more distinction on the image. I really like how the body is separate to allow for a different dimensional placement or location from the feathers. It adds a lot of design possibilities!

This set really has a lot of possibilities beyond using it as an obvious turkey image. The feathers can be used as flowers, surf boards, leaves, and much more. I did opt to use the turkey again on the next project with just a rearrangement of the feathers. Since I was working on a smaller scale with this 6×6 page, I cut one of the phrases apart so that I could just use one word out of the phrase.

I really enjoyed using the Unity Stamps and the “Build a Turkey” set. The packaging had a small graphic of the included images and it was a nice surprise to see how large the actual stamps were! I loved the fact that they came already mounted on cling foam and pre-cut. I also found that the individual images allowed a full range of creativity over a single image stamp with more detail. The rubber is deeply etched allowing for a crisp and solid stamping. Overall, I will buy these stamps again – a different set of course – and thoroughly enjoy them!

Simple stamping and some die cutting using my favorite tool, Big Shot Express. Press that button and away you go cutting shapes like there’s no tomorrow! It makes me happy.

I was recently introduced to My Stamp Box through the Preferred Partner program at P K Glitz. They are a clear stamp company with neat designs and great storage. Each set comes in a cd case with a sticker of the designs included – everything all in one, done!

A recent find in a Canadian store was this stamp mfg because they are Canadian! I haven’t seen them in any of the stores by me yet, so it was indeed a happy day when I saw the stamps. I had been wanting “A Tree for all Seasons” since I saw some samples on their blog. Stampin’ Up! had a similar set that I never got for one reason or another before it was retired. Win-win!
