Scraps of thoughts, photos and art

Some Odd Girl

So there’s a Guest DT call at Some Odd Girl who has both digi and clear stamps images that are very very cool! You’ve seen some of my Copic coloring lately which the majority of that has used SOG images. I totally chill out when I color SOG images, they are magical stress-relieving girls and boys (animals too of course) that just make you smile.

I would be a great GDT for a variety of reasons – the ability to craft using a very versatile product (SOG images), to practice my Copic coloring which gets better with more time at it, to have an “excuse” to color (like I needed one 🙂 ), have an extra reason to be creative, to chill out with a rigorous work schedule and to help Kristy sell more product!! It would be great to have readers use my ideas to inspire their own projects. I’m just a regular crafter that loves to color and create when she can fit it in.

I am thankful for the opportunity to apply for a GDT spot! As a long-time customer, it would really be a hoot to be able to contribute to such a great team of extreme talent!

Here are my latest projects using SOG images:

Some Odd Girl-Pressie Mae

Some Odd Girl-Roller_Mae

Some Odd Girl Bookish-Tia

Thanks again for the opportunity and good luck to all that applied!

Isn’t she so carefree just skating away? I LOVED rollerskating as a kid AND as an adult. What fun we had!! My sister was roller queen, but I wasn’t half bad 🙂

This card is for the Some Odd Girl sketch challenge and for the Play Date Cafe’s color challenge PDCC151 this week. I used a couple stamps from The Stamps of Life for the sentiment.

For Copic colors, I used E000, E00, E11 for the skin; E29, E39, E49 for the hair; YR15, YR16, YR18 for her sweater & scarf; R35, R37, R39 for her vest, socks and wheels; G20, G21, G24 for her pants and G0000, G000 for the skate highlights.

Have a great Saturday!

I’m practicing my Copic coloring with Star Bright Tia this afternoon. Working on a challenge from Facebook Fun Day yesterday with Some Odd Girl, here’s a gatefold card featuring the cute Tia. Asa did a tutorial on the SOG blog yesterday about gatefold cards, aren’t they cool?? Click on the picture to see more detail. The left is the closed version and right side is the inside.

Thanks for the challenge Some Odd Girl! The color scheme is using this week’s Color Throwdown #210 gorgeous colors too 🙂

When this digi stamp came out at Some Odd Girl, I just had to have her! She is SO stinkin’ cute!

Yesterday was Facebook Fun Day with Some Odd Girl and a challenge was given to print an image on fabric and color with Copics. I was able to find my Sticky Back Canvas, so into the laser printed it went with Bookish Tia on it! It was a little challenging to have a light touch with the coloring since the canvas sucked up the ink if you left it too long in one spot or tried to blend too much. I really like the effect!! Here’s my card:

Paper that is?

Some Odd Girl digi stamps had a fun challenge this week –> put something pleated on a project.

When I taught some of the BasicGrey card classes, some of the cards had some interesting paper pleats on them. Doing the pleats was not a favorite in the class as some of my students would heartily agree, but the effect was pretty cool.

I created one of those pleat designs for the challenge this week, hope you like it! Click either design to see a larger view.

Here’s another cutie from Some Odd Girl digital stamps. I used a new purchase from a sale at Michael’s – a deep border punch of presents! I figured it would be good year round for birthdays and other celebrations other than Christmas. Isn’t it marvelous??

I kept Miss Mae mostly monochromatic with just some sparkle in her hair. I will definitely dive into the color soon though. 🙂
