Scraps of thoughts, photos and art

rubber stamping

I was inspired by the recent sketch at Clean & Simple Stamping’s blog #225 and the Shopping Our Stash challenge #86 to use our oldest ribbon for this card using Tweety Jill’s collage papers and stamps.

Tweety Jill

The 3 Valentine’s ribbons are AT LEAST 3 years old, maybe older! I got them at Michael’s on clearance one year and have not used them up yet. Fun challenge at SOS!

I’ve started working on some Valentine’s projects using Tweety Jill‘s collage papers and stamps. Her stamps are such a great collection of vintage images that you can really have some fun with them. Here is just the start of a slew of Valentine’s projects – cards, ATC’s and tags!

Tweety JillI used the Just Add Ink #150 sketch for this card and stamped the main image using markers colored on the stamp instead of ink to meet the CAS-ual Fridays challenge CFC87 this week.

And a bit of creativity!

I picked up this cute moleskin mini notebook at Barnes & Noble for my purse. When picking it up, I seem to frequently (more than I want) open the back cover first! To fix this issue, I added a visual cue my decorating the FRONT of the book! Seemingly simple right? Well, some things just take longer to get to! I found the perfect excuse when Simon Says Stamp & Show Blog had a challenge this week about altering with words. Sooooo, the background of my cover is french script and the “notes” word was stamped on as well. Actually, the whole cover is stamped with a punched border of Magic Mesh and paper.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I love making cards!

It’s Virtual Stamp Night this weekend on Splitcoast Stampers, so I thought that I would indulge myself in some stamping just for the fun of it.

So, VSN has various challenges under this month’s theme of You Make My Heart Sing. The hostesses are extremely creative with their challenges all relating back to the main theme. Great job ladies!

Here is another card with more to come.
