A co-worker just had a baby girl so I put together an accordian card using The Stamps of Life stamps and onesie die.
When I just typed that, I thought of that movie “Princess Bride”! My Mom LOVED that movie and could watch it every day and laugh no matter what.
It is challenge time again at the Michelle Perkett Studio Challenge Blog. A new challenge starts on a Tuesday and ends on the following Monday.
This week’s challenge is to create a New Year’s themed project using one of Michelle’s images.
I’ve used the Fairy Bride in my card to give you some inspiration for the challenge. I colored her with Watercolor Crayons. I cut 2 slits on either side of her waist sash and put tulle through each one, hanging out the back where you can’t see it. I added a couple extra punched flowers and vines for a wrist corsage.

A friend emailed and wanted some ideas on creating her daughter’s graduation announcements. She had a neat sample from another graduation and wanted something similar.
So…one thing led to another and I was able to do 75 for her last weekend! It was a little of a challenge since the first paw hand punch I bought BROKE on the 2nd use!!!! UGH!!! Couldn’t believe it, but Michael’s was gracious enough to replace it with no questions asked. I don’t ever abuse my tools as I know better than that, so this poor guy was doomed by mechanical failure practically out of the gate.
Anyway, the 2nd punch performed like a champ and in no time I had 150 paws punched. Yes, my arm was feeling it a little because I was using one of those Fiskars grip punches where you clench the handles together to punch, not the kind where you push the button on the top. Not to worry, no injuries. 🙂
The assembly was a little painful since I RAN OUT OF ADHESIVE! Can YOU believe THAT? I couldn’t and became painfully aware that my once free supply was gone and the over abundance in my cabinet was depleted. Oh well, I got to REALLY put my pink and green Glue Glider Pro to the test. I LIKE IT!
Now, to decide which is better, the High Tac or Perma Tac – anyone have any opinions? Is anyone out there?
I suffered through the remaining 30 cards using GLUE DOTS! Yes, I truly did. Good thing I had a bunch of those!!! At the end, I then remembered that I had some large rolls of P K Glitz Sticky Tape – DOH! I had to chuckle at that one.
The cards got mailed to NC a day later than I wanted, but the Graduate and her mom were happy with them. Oh, the card? Here it is with me as the model, hahahaha…

I thought the House Mouse stamps were super cute, but these Mouserkins are absolutely adorable! I had a great chance to do some more coloring with the Copics. I’m doing more blending than ever before. In doing that, I definitely have some holes in my Copic collection. Funny how it doesn’t appear until you really start using them! I use the Warm and Cool Grays often – for shadowing and outlining. It gives the image such a great look! Well then you have the colors too – wowser! I love the light colors because they can brighten up a darker tone in two shakes. I can’t wait to get more…

Using cardstock only is sometimes challenging with all of that gorgeous patterned paper out there! But think of the possibilities with some solid colored paper, stamps and ink. There are LOTS.
Take a look at this page using only Prism cardstock. Here are the colors that I used: Iced Amethyst, Vibrant Cobalt, Frosted Mint, Butter Cream and Nero. Thanks for peeking today!
