mini mailbox

Hello blog readers!

I went to the Stampfest event in Clearwater last weekend – wow, what a FUN time! I love seeing my stamping friends from all over during this yearly trek, seeing new stamping images and goodies! Of course I got a couple things (uh hem, maybe more than a couple) that I’m sure will be cropping up here from different projects that I’ll be doing.

I’d like to catch up on some cards and a mini mailbox that I’ve created lately using Ippity Stamps. I’ve enhanced my Ippity sales blog for a better view of the sets if you would like to take a look at the Product Info page. Feedback is always welcome!

Have a great President’s Day weekend!

Yes, I’m addicted to ATCs – Artist Trading Cards. They are 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and can have any design on them. I trade every other month with a local club and it’s a great time to get together, chat, eat lunch and trade! That’s one of the super FUN things about ATCs, you always trade and never sell them!

I came across these little mini mailboxes at Target in the DOLLAR SPOT, yes only $1! I usually see them around Valentine’s Day, so I grab at least 10 to stash my ATCs in throughout the year. I must decorate each one, OF COURSE! That’s half the fun! The colors that I’ve seen are white, red, pink, metallic pink, silver and a mauve-ish color. It’s all good because it’s super easy to change the look by adding patterned paper, paint or glitter.

Search for “mini mailbox” in the box to the right or click this link to see some other designs in my mini mailbox collection.

Today’s project is using some digital and rubber stamps from Michelle Perkett Studio. There’s a new challenge on Michelle’s blog that you should check out and enter to win free digital stamps!

—->> check it out on the Challenge Blog, due Monday, January 31st.

To make this mini mailbox project, I made background paper using the LOVE word and printing on patterned paper. I then rubber stamped the Ballerina Fairy, colored her with Copic markers and cut her out. I adhered the background paper around the middle of the mailbox and punched 2 borders that I wrapped over each side of the LOVE paper. I added the fairy and a bunch of bling-y hearts and flowers! As a finishing touch, I used my Dymo labeler to make the “my ATCs” tag near the fairy’s leg. Cute isn’t she?

Yes, I am still loving these little guys that happen to be very prevalent around the Valentine Day time.

I used some of the cool Ippity stamps to decorate the outside. Not that the glitter wouldn’t be enough (pretty sparkly now isn’t it??? :D) but stamped and colored images never hurt a project. The tree and birdies and heart are from the Straight from the Heart set while the saying is from the Because of You set. Even though they’re from different sets, they still go well together! Great quality of the Ippity stamps!

Here’s to you my blog followers! Thank you for your visits throughout 2009. I hope you’ll come back more in 2010, it’s going to be a great year!

I’ve been playing with the Ippity stamps more – lots of fun there!!! Take a peek and see what you think! I just love the red rubber cling – it takes ink so well. 🙂

This last one uses a Unity stamp with the Ippity one.

Have a great day!
