Yes readers, I am FINALLY catching up with Project 12 pages! It is nearing year end and I wanted to do the pages so that I could fill in with more detailed layouts later. I’ve had so much fun with this project! I’ve used BasicGrey on every 2 page spread. I figured that I needed to start weeding out my BasicGrey collection, so it’s a good way to go isn’t it?

This month’s sketch is for September. Don’t forget to click on the image for more detail.

I do LOVE the holidays! My Mom was a huge fan of Christmas – just EVERYTHING about it! She would decorate and make it so special for everyone around her that you couldn’t help but put your troubles aside. My love of the holidays is inspired by her, a true believer that life is so precious and should not be wasted. Be happy, have joy and celebrate!

If you started here at my blog, just keep hopping along until you’ve reached every blog.

Michelle’s personal blog (the 1st in the list below) has a question on it. You’ll need to collect letters from 6 blogs to unscramble for the answer. My letter is “O. The first correct answer that contacts Michelle will win Missy the Mistletoe Pixie!

You can contact her through the etsy store or through PCP, CDAC or SNR.

I created this card for P K Glitz last month and thought you would like to see it! It’s a glittered mosaic card coupled with a heat embossed chipboard circle. The circle is double-embossed so that the greeting really has great dimension like the chipboard circle.

Here’s my third card using the same glittered acetate technique mentioned earlier today.

I colored her in rich holiday tones to meet this week’s Holiday Challenge on  Michelle’s Challenge blog. It’s to use a holiday stamp from Michelle! Easy to do for sure! You have until Monday afternoon.

The sunlight catches the glitter so well!

This is such a cute stamp, that I had to color it with glitter! Very similar to Holly the Winter Fairy, I used different glitter colors on the back of the acetate to give this sparkly effect. P K Glitz just has so many wonderful colors that it’s hard to pick, but I managed to come up with this pretty aqua and red combo.

Don’t forget that there’s a challenge going on at Michelle’s Challenge blog. It’s to use a holiday stamp from Michelle! Easy to do for sure! You have until Monday afternoon.

There are so many great winter digital stamps out there that it’s hard to pick! I’m partial to Michelle Perkett’s stamps (ok, I’m on her DT, but there is a very good reason for that – I LOVE her stamps!) for their great detail and whimsiness!

There’s a challenge going on at Michelle’s Challenge blog. It’s to use a holiday stamp from Michelle! Easy to do for sure! Don’t forget to enter – you have until Monday afternoon.

I’ll be showing you 3 different ones today that I’ve colored with glitter! Yes, you can color with glitter! All you need is an adhesive to hold the glitter and acetate.

Here are the steps:

  • Select digital stamp
  • Print it on acetate. I use laser printer transparencies from Home Depot.
  • Select glitter colors and get them out ready to use.
  • Open a bottle of Crystal Lacquer and attach needle tip.
  • Usually it is best to “color” on the dull side of the print. If there is writing in the image, you can print a in “mirror” like a t-shirt print. This isn’t a hard and fast rule, but if there are large solid areas that are black, it will look dull from the printing. When turned over, the printing looks really sharp and detailed. Your choice.
  • “Color” areas with the Crystal Lacquer that you would like to use the darkest glitters colors on first. Through experience, I’ve found dark to light works the best.
  • Sprinkle on 1st glitter color and shake off excess. Tap back into the jar, coffee filter, glitter tray – whatever works for you.
  • Repeat until the image is colored in.
  • Set aside to dry in a safe place, lacquer up (like away from prying paws or excess fan breeze).

After you add each glitter color, flip the image over and see what it looks like. If you happen to go out of the lines (we all do, it’s ok), use needle tip tweezers or some other pointy object to nudge the glitter and lacquer back into the right spots. Try to do this very soon after adding the glitter as it hasn’t dried yet and is easy to move.

So you’ve got this beautiful glittery image, how do you attach it to your project? There are many ways!

  • Dot some Crystal Lacquer on the back of the dried glitter areas on the image. Be careful as the lacquer spreads very easy and you don’t want extra lacquer peeking out from behind your image!
  • Mini Glue Dots
  • Staples
  • Eyelets
  • Brads
  • Double-sided tape then hide from the front with a paper flap or other embellishment
  • Decorative corners that the trimmed image can get tucked under to be secured
  • Stitch it down

Ok, are you ready to see her? A lot of the mumbo jumbo above will make sense when you see the card. Remember to click on the card to see a larger version of it for the detail.
