My ATC (Artist Trading Card) Club just met over the weekend. It was a great time! I did unfortunately wait until the last minute to make my ATC’s. The usual suspects for delaying – work, fighting a sinus infection, other commitments, yada yada yada. Oh, Stampfest was in there too.

ATC’s are 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ pieces of art. Try them sometime, they’re addicting!!

BUT, I did successfully complete them! I like one of them a lot and the other, so-s0. Oh well, that’s how it goes right?

We decided on the rest of our themes for the year – love that! Now I can do them as I have time or supplies. We meet in April next, so I’ll have a couple months to work on 2 batches. Should be able to do that!

Anyway, here are the gems! February’s theme was “Famous Couples” and March was “Recycle”.

I finally was able to make a card using some of the scraps left over from my Origins card class – the one with the 6×6 pad of mini prints from that paper line. What goodness! The P K Glitz colors really match well to the patterns and colors in this line. I used the recent Mojo Monday sketch for inspiration.

There’s this cool challenge going on Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine called Project 12. It breaks down the memory collecting into a 2-page spread of the month’s events. I like the concept and am working with it – so good so far!

Becky Fleck is doing the sketches for each month and you can either use that sketch each month or use 1 sketch over and over or even use no sketch. I enjoy working with Becky Fleck’s sketches, so I figured “why not”?

There will most definitely be scrapbook pages devoted to a specific something that went on during the month. Project 12 is just to serve as a snapshot of “here’s what happened this month”. My goal is to use BasicGrey for each Project 12 spread and to use Becky’s sketches.

So, without further ado, here’s January 2010:

Project 12, January

BasicGrey patterned paper, Elements and Alphabet stickers
Becky Fleck sketch
Stampin’ Up! border punch
Michael’s ribbon

I just had to ink up this recent DoodleFactory set “Arctic” from Starving Artistamps for a couple reasons.

1. It’s been flippin’ cold out and even though it hasn’t snowed, it sure has been colder for a longer period of time since I moved here.

2. The Winter Olympics are on in Vancouver!

3. I wanted to join a card swap on FL Stampers where the theme was “winter scene”. Do you think this qualifies??

Yes, I am still loving these little guys that happen to be very prevalent around the Valentine Day time.

I used some of the cool Ippity stamps to decorate the outside. Not that the glitter wouldn’t be enough (pretty sparkly now isn’t it??? :D ) but stamped and colored images never hurt a project. The tree and birdies and heart are from the Straight from the Heart set while the saying is from the Because of You set. Even though they’re from different sets, they still go well together! Great quality of the Ippity stamps!

Ippity stamps, IPK-105 Straight from the Heart, IPK-100 Because of You
P K Glitz Sticky Tape, Wonder Film, Embossing Powder, Heat Activated Glue Powder, Glitter Glitz

Offray ribbon
