Creative Imaginations

My design team kit from Cherry Blossom Studio this month included fun items from Creative Imaginations, Creative Cafe and Imaginise. Double-sided paper and a transparency offered a lot of options and flexibility for the page. To emphasize words on the the transparency, I colored the back with a Copic marker which added a great touch. The flowers were sprayed with a Shabby Shutters Distress Reinker, Green Patina Perfect Pearls and water combination, giving it a nice subtle sparkle. The title letters were created by using some Inque Boutique Morsels stamps to build the letters. A nice organic feel don’t you think?

Wowie, talk about gorgeous paper and embellishments?! One of the newest collections from Creative Imaginations has such beautiful specialty edged paper, super 3d embellishments and fantastic rub-ons that you’ll just want every piece of the collection! I was lucky enough to work with the black, cream and white collection courtesy of Scrapbook Central, for my DT kit. The rub-ons were like no others that I’ve tried – super sleek but not too sticky. You know when they cling to everything you don’t want them to? Well, these were very forgiving without the hassle of not applying correctly. That’s the beauty, they DID apply wonderfully! The long rub-on under the photo in the layout was actually cut and the remaining cut portion was turned vertically to go along the left side of the photo. Looks like it should belong there doesn’t it? Pretty cool! Don’t forget that you can mix your titles – this one if 1/2 sticker letters and 1/2 rub-on. Don’t be afraid to add a little extra glam too. The 3d stickers had a nice glisten to them, so I dressed up the rub-ons to match. Thanks for looking!

Foil is one of those rather picky mediums, but you go through the work because the result is so spectacular! Creative Imaginations has made it pretty dang easy with their Foil Kits as reviewed at ScrapFriends recently. The foil itself comes in themed color kits with 2 sheets each per color – nice! Also included is a tube of foil glue. This is interesting stuff and I want to use it more to test it’s limits for sure. It is a milky liquid glue that dries clear and sticky.

Another product that CI has to go great with the foil are the patterned adhesive embellishments. These are like rub-ons with sticky on both sides. Sooooo, on the top sticky side goes foil, glitter, flocking or pigment powder – take your pick! What is very cool is that the adhesive matches some of CI’s most popular lines in the Narratives collection. Way cool and beautiful to boot.

Here are some projects using the foil kits. The layout uses the patterned adhesive and glitter from PK Glitz.

This next sample is actually a Tinkering Ink Acrylic Tag with the patterned adhesive transfers plus the foil. Very neat because you can see the back from the other side of the tag.

Creative Imaginations has a fun take on the aging males out there with their newer Old Guys Rule Collection. Containing witty sticker sayings, die cut chipboard, metal charms and of course patterned paper, the collection just oozes masculinity. Browns and blues are the theme along with “woody” station wagons and surfboards, all reminiscent of the 50’s and 60’s California dude.

The likely target for working with this paper was my DB, but my step-father won out! This great shot of him at Easter taken by my aunt, just seemed to fit. He even dressed to match the papers! How perfecto is that?? Honest, he didn’t do that intentionally, but didn’t hurt the layout at all. 🙂
