I’ve had a little time to play around with some new BasicGrey Lime Rickey and stamps from Starving Artistamps. The stamps come from the “Bees” sheet which contains cool bees flying around, the beautiful flower I used in one of my last posts, grasshoppers, leaves and reeds. I love the natural feel of the images!
This first card was for a sketch challenge at Rubber Stamp Chat – fun place to hang out!

This next card is using pretty much the same ingredients as above except that I added some Prima flowers, Dew drops and googley-eyes on the bee. The slot was cut with a Stampin’ Up! punch.
This last one is my try using inks and a brayer. I’ve been visiting Michelle Zindorf’s blog recently and she’s really inspiring when it comes to using those items so nicely together!

Every time a new BasicGrey collection arrives, I always think that I’ll be able to resist buying it. Yeah right! I’m lucky enough to be teaching the Bittersweet Card Kit at Scrapbook Central in February – just in time for Valentine’s Day, weddings and those thoughtful “thinking of you” occasions, heck maybe even a birthday! If you’re in the area, come on by for the class on Wednesday night, Feb 4th, or Saturday afternoon Feb 7th to experience a “Bittersweet” class including stamping. Yes, I always need to include some fun in there and yes, you can stamp on BasicGrey without disrupting the beautiful pattern. In fact, you’ll think that the stamping belongs there! I hope to see you soon…
coming in November and December to Scrapbook Central! I’ll be teaching the BasicGrey Wassail Card Kit Class and 2009 Calendar Class while sharing all my tips and techniques along the way. These kits are sold out at BasicGrey, so they are limited editions and will not be printed again. Reserve your class spot today at Scrapbook Central to make sure you get your spot!
So, you might have thought that I was holding out on you, but no, I wasn’t. 🙂 Just busy is the answer. 😉
Here is the Milk Chocolate Eclectic album from BasicGrey with the Cloud 9 Finley’s Estate Collection. Every page in this album is milk chocolate colored chipboard in a different shape. I didn’t paint or ink the edges, they are au naturale or have paper on them. Take a look into the Tim Holtz weekend we had at the store at the end of May – lots of fun!
I like these sneak releases from BasicGrey – sort of like the appetizer for the main CHA releases! The pinks, purples and turquoise colors in this collection are bright, fun and full of flowers. It definitely has a “girly” feel to it, but spring, parties and birthdays all come to mind when using this paper too. Coming with the usual embellishments of brads, chipboard and fiber, this collection also matches many of the newer Prima bling quite nicely! So BasicGrey, where’s the bling?
