Monthly Archives: September 2012
Here’s a simple one that I had to put together with the September The Stamps of Life set, trees4Christmas – LOVE IT! I will be making a lot of cards with this versatile set. I just happened to have matching embossing powders to match the BasicGrey patterned paper – imagine that?! One of my desires is to really dive into my massive glitter and embossing powder collection to use IT UP! I will only repurchase the ones that I really really like and only from the manufacturers I like. Anyway, here’s a step towards that 🙂
Isn’t she so carefree just skating away? I LOVED rollerskating as a kid AND as an adult. What fun we had!! My sister was roller queen, but I wasn’t half bad 🙂
For Copic colors, I used E000, E00, E11 for the skin; E29, E39, E49 for the hair; YR15, YR16, YR18 for her sweater & scarf; R35, R37, R39 for her vest, socks and wheels; G20, G21, G24 for her pants and G0000, G000 for the skate highlights.
Have a great Saturday!
I have a card to share using my newly acquired Avocado Arts stamps! It’s a simple but fun card using the “Thankful for You” set which has a Fall theme to it.
Thanks for stopping by today!
I’m practicing my Copic coloring with Star Bright Tia this afternoon. Working on a challenge from Facebook Fun Day yesterday with Some Odd Girl, here’s a gatefold card featuring the cute Tia. Asa did a tutorial on the SOG blog yesterday about gatefold cards, aren’t they cool?? Click on the picture to see more detail. The left is the closed version and right side is the inside.
Thanks for the challenge Some Odd Girl! The color scheme is using this week’s Color Throwdown #210 gorgeous colors too 🙂
When this digi stamp came out at Some Odd Girl, I just had to have her! She is SO stinkin’ cute!
Yesterday was Facebook Fun Day with Some Odd Girl and a challenge was given to print an image on fabric and color with Copics. I was able to find my Sticky Back Canvas, so into the laser printed it went with Bookish Tia on it! It was a little challenging to have a light touch with the coloring since the canvas sucked up the ink if you left it too long in one spot or tried to blend too much. I really like the effect!! Here’s my card:
I used this week’s:
Mojo Monday sketch #259
The Play Date Cafe‘s color combo PDCC150

I just finished a “basic” Copic marker class by Kristy and Melissa over at Created From Color. It was FANTASTIC! Although I am Copic Certified, I wanted a refresher course and one that gave more detail to each lesson. This is it if you want to become a ton more proficient with your Copics. They also have an Advanced class if you’re already comfortable with coloring skin, hair and shadowing from a light source.
Here’s my before and after image. The left is actually the “after” and the right is the “before”.
I still need to practice with the light source, but I’m much more comfortable when coloring skin and hair. Thanks Kristy and Melissa!!
