At Starving Artistamps!

Do you want to win some NEW STAMPS?

We have new stamps to show you today and we need some help spreading the word around town about these new cutie pies. So we’re going to make a deal with you.

We are going to give away not one, not two, not three, but FOUR. Yes, FOUR!!! BRAND NEW SETS of stamps to one lucky randomly drawn winner for helping get the word out about our new stamps. And since we are leaving for a big road trip on Wednesday for stamp shows (Novi, MI and Cincinnati, OH.. see the website for details). We are drawing the winner this TUESDAY night so you only have today and tomorrow to enter! So this is what you need to do in order to win FOUR brand new hot off the presses stamp sets (with a street value of about $65 big ones…)

First, and this is REALLY IMPORTANT… you need to SPREAD THE WORD about our candy. How can you do that?
-Post a comment on your blog
-Post a message on a message board
-Send an email to your STAMP or SCRAPBOOK related friends, family or groups.

Did you know we really do check that you have spread the word? So you’re going to need to prove it. How can you do that?
-When you post your candy comment on the Starving Artistamps Gallery thread be sure to put a link to the direct post on your blog. Dont have a blog? What are you waiting for? It’s all the rage and free to set up. All the cool kids are doing it.

Dont want a blog?
-How about you copy us the email you sent to your friends:
-Email the link to the message board you posted on:
-or have your friends tell us that you sent them our way when they post their own comment.

Did you know that in the past we have had to redraw our winner several times before we could find someone who really did spread the word. (Hey, you’re about to win a HUGE brand new COLLECTION of FREE rubber! It’s worth the extra effort!)

-No purchase necessary
-spread the word and tell us how you did it by posting a comment on the Starving Artistamps Gallery Blog thread from now until July 27th, 2009 (midnight PST)
-We will announce the winner on or before July 28th, 2009 (midnight PST)
-One entry per person.
-Please provide in your comment some way of contacting you if you are the winner.

So without further interruption… may we present… DoodleFactory “INTO THE WOODS”

There are cards in our gallery to see!

Good luck!

I had a terrific opportunity to create some great mini albums with 2 scrapping industry pros – Debby Schuh and Donna Downey! What a FUN couple of days! It started Friday night with an 8×8 fabric scrapbook using Donna’s newest collection from Prima. Wow, talk about a blast! I’ll be sure to post my pages when I’m done, but it was pure heaven! Here’s a sneak of one page from Donna’s book:

And then Saturday came Debby’s class that is a super cool mini album:

And then Donna Downey again with a mixed media sensation “Bloom”:

I’ll be sure to post better pictures of these when I get my versions done. 🙂

Of course I had some celebrity shots too! Here is Cindy and I with Donna in our NEW t-shirts!!

Thank you Donna and Debby for a great weekend!

I recently found a very interesting product to use in my crafting projects. Having been poking around on Rubber Stamp Chat (RSC), there was a member, wood_veneer_man, running a contest for using his wood items to stamp on and donate to a worthy cause. He even offered to send samples out to use in your art! I took him up on the offer and promptly received a nifty sample of different wood veneers thin enough to die cut or punch and veneers on paper offering a more sturdy backing for the actual projects. He had some cut into bookmarks, postcards and business card shapes! The wood ranges from light to dark and is smooth enough to stamp on, die cut, punch and cut with regular ole scissors. Pretty fun indeed. We will see much more of wood_veneer_man in the coming future, I know it!

Wood_veneer_man doesn’t have a web site or blog YET, more coming soon 😉

If you want more information, contact me and I’ll let him know you’re looking for him or contact him through RSC and tell him that I sent you.

Here is a cute ATC that was PERFECT for using the wood veneer almost like a paper piecing, instead it was a wood piecing! Stamps by Unity and Earth Elements Sod & Saffron from Art Institute.

Yes, I admit it, I have an “IN” for feeling, seeing and using some of the new product coming at CHA. You can actually visit the My Mind’s Eye site to see the upcoming CHA releases, so it’s not a total surprise. The fact that I got to USE it though, makes me feel special. 🙂 Thank you T.

Let’s see, I sprayed the snowflake background paper with a mixture of Dried Marigold/Blush Perfect Pearls/Water from a Mini Mister (see the recipe page for more) and layered a bunch of patterned paper! The title letters were cut from fun foam using a couple different Sizzix alphas, then covered with Glossy Accents and P K Glitz Crystal Glitter. Thanks for looking!

Artist Trading Cards (ATC’s) are simple and totally fun pieces of art. You can start from a 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of paper or a stamp a whole sheet then cut it to size, it’s really up to you. At first you may think that it’s really hard to work on that size, but once you get into it, it’s really addicting! You’ll find all sorts of stamped images that fit really well onto this size as you can see below.

Faerie Song Art Stamps is a great source for fantasy images! Check out my little Copic colored faeries! Patterned paper is DCWV.

Well, from the Starving Artistamps Bees Sheet! Rubber stamps are just so versatile and fun to use. I’ve mostly been making cards recently which does have side benefits like using scraps! Each of the cards shown here have scraps from either patterned paper or cardstock cut from layouts. It’s such a great feeling to use scraps!

All stamps are from Starving Artistamps. Patterned paper is from Tinkering Ink, SEI and Reminisce.
