Not only have I been having fun recently with digital stamps, but I’ve found Artists whose work is both in digital stamps and rubber stamps! Isn’t that the best of both worlds??
I’ve been making projects for Heather at Faerie Song Art Stamps for 3 yrs this month (wow) using many of the stamps she offers from different Designers. Michelle Perkett is one of those Designers. I’ve seen a glimpse of other images from her here and there on Paper Craft Planet and wondered where they were offered. Well, she has her own Etsy store and blog with a ton of images!
How exciting! More than just faerie creatures and all in that great artist stroke! She recently gave away this neat cake image AND is having a DT call! I thought this image would look GREAT printed on acetate and colored in with glitter – well, cakes with candles are for celebrating right? I kept the card design on the simple side because the image is so nice on a larger card. I hope you like it!
Supplies:
Michelle Perkett Studio cake digi stamp
P K Glitz glitter
Crystal Lacquer
Office Depot acetate
Spellbinders Impressabilities circle texture
Corner punch
Clearsnap ink
Click on the card for a bigger version to view. I printed the image on acetate, colored in the different portions of the cake with Crystal Lacquer one at a time and added the color glitter that I wanted. This is all done on the back of the image so that the detail is nice and clear when you flip it over. The letters were traced with Crystal Lacquer and sprinkled with all of the glitter colors for a rainbow effect. The ink on the embossed background design was done using a DTP technique.
Enjoy your afternoon!

Otherwise known as a “RAK”.
Have you ever received one? I have and it’s a great ray of sunshine when you open the mailbox to open a totally unexpected card from some random person!
There are lists that you can get on to give and receive these RAKs, in fact, we have one on the FL Stampers Yahoo group. It’s fun and makes you feel good to send one along to someone when they least expect it.
Here is one such RAK that I’m sending to the Mom of a teenager on one of the Yahoo groups that I’m on. Her Mom is actually on the list, but recently came to need some urgent care. So, the daughter has put out a request for a ‘card shower’. Isn’t that a cute thing to do?
See, there is still hope and good will out there!
