I like these sneak releases from BasicGrey - sort of like the appetizer for the main CHA releases! The pinks, purples and turquoise colors in this collection are bright, fun and full of flowers. It definitely has a “girly” feel to it, but spring, parties and birthdays all come to mind when using this paper [...]

Scrapping beach-y pictures must be one of my all time favorite things to do - I just can’t do enough of them! It seems that I’m never short of ideas and it’s a good thing that I have a lot of beach photos! The photographer for this layout is Fred - thanks for the great [...]

Inchies, Flowers and Fruit!
July 24th, 2008 No Comments
A recent challenge on ScrapFriends gave me the push I needed to try Inchies. They are 1×1 pieces of art - each one can tell a story or a bunch of them can be put together like a mosaic. I opted for the “bigger picture” effect so here’s the result:
The Inchies were a piece [...]

Fun with glitter and Sticky Paper
July 21st, 2008 2 Comments
Can you believe that this 2-page layout is the final one for my chronological 2007 book? How exciting! I’m not 100% up-to-date this year, but now I don’t feel as far behind now that I completed this page. Thanks to Tammy for issuing the Scrap-enger Challenge on ScrapFriends and for being a loyal blog commenter!

Tinkering Ink’s Al Fresco
July 20th, 2008 2 Comments
I have to say that initially I thought this collection was a bit “bright”, but after using it, I really LOVE it! You may think that I say that about every Tinkering Ink collection - what’s to not like about a company that obviously has FUN designing their products and strives to keep an edge? [...]

Altered Arts Kit Club - The Mailbox Muse
July 16th, 2008 No Comments
As recently reviewed on ScrapFriends, the kits from The Mailbox Muse are completely FUN! Filled to the brim with ephemera, paper, doo dads and embellishments, oh the magazine of course, there is lots to see and play with.
The first is a pin using die cut puzzle pieces as the structure and covered with Paper Imagery [...]
New Easel Design
July 15th, 2008 2 Comments
I had some time this weekend to create a new 7 1/2″ easel design with Love, Elsie’s Cody Collection which is WAY cute! There are 2 pieces of adhesive backed fabric paper IDEAL for the easel. Just trim 3″ off the side of the 12×12 piece of paper and voila! Peel and stick! A little [...]

Texture, color and stamping

Doodlebug’s new flocked paper (otherwise known as raised fuzzy stuff, technical term), comes in a bunch of colors, solids and patterns. It has a nice heavy weight to it, but allows easy cutting with scissors, trimmers, punches or die cut machines. It also doesn’t bog down a sewing machine even when stitching to regular cardstock. [...]

“Old Guys Rule” takes fun to a new level!
July 8th, 2008 1 Comment
Creative Imaginations hasĀ a fun take on the aging males out there with their newer Old Guys Rule Collection. Containing witty sticker sayings, die cut chipboard, metal charms and of course patterned paper, the collection just oozes masculinity. Browns and blues are the theme along with “woody” station wagons and surfboards, all reminiscent of the 50’s [...]
