Scraps of thoughts, photos and art

I have to say that initially I thought this collection was a bit “bright”, but after using it, I really LOVE it! You may think that I say that about every Tinkering Ink collection – what’s to not like about a company that obviously has FUN designing their products and strives to keep an edge? Kezia and Paul are two of the nicest people in the industry – and they don’t pay me to say that, LOL! I have tons of fun working with their products. It’s an added treat that I get to review them at ScrapFriends.

This page was for my cutie kitty Cheddar. Al Fresco is a natural to mix with the new Doodlebug colored collections, which you’ll see in the next couple of layouts. Add some Heidi Swapp Ghost Flowers and punched flowers from the Doodlebug flocked paper and you’ve got some great dimensional embellishments.

Next I have a National Scrapbook Day tribute page, showing Kitty Foster and La Verne enjoying a lovely Belgian Waffle breakfast at Scrapbook Central that day. The Heidi Swapp Ghost butterflies were covered with L’il Davis’ Glitter Glaze then highlighted with pink Stickles. A little hole punch doodling created the butterfly trails.

Last, but surely not least, is a take-off of an idea from Tim Holtz. It’s an altered IKEA mirror/frame. I covered the mirror in the center with a picture and themed the whole embellishment scheme around the photo. Using some of Tim’s Fragments, Crackle Paint and Grungeboard, the project came together beautifully with Al Fresco.

  • Ohhh, I love that beach frame. What a terrific interpretation from his class. And all your other projects are just divine, as usual!!
