I love your cards, here and on the other posts. Never tried inchies before. Anyway, I love embossing powder because it just seems to add that finishing touch to any project.

I love your cards! What dimensions are they? I almost always make A2 cards, but I think I should start mixing it up a bit.

Embossing powder is my favorite element of card making. I got into making cards because my best friend and my sister were both into it, and it was making me a little nuts that they were sharing something I was so clueless about. When they tried to get me started, I was totally overwhelmed with options, and ended up mostly just cooking for them instead. After a while Julie (my friend) was making cards with a lot of embossing. She was getting tired of the heat gun and I thought it looked easy enough, so I spent most of the afternoon just doing her embossing. I enjoyed watching the powder melt, change color, and become shiny. After that day (without telling them) I bought a card-making kit off of QVC. I made a few cards and started feeling less overwhelmed. And now, I’m posting a card a day on my own card-making blog. I doubt I’d be doing that at all if Julie hadn’t been embossing that day.

Longest comment ever, huh? I get wordy like that. :) Happy Blog Hop day!

    Beautiful cards!

I’ve only used embossing powder a couple of times but I love the way it adds a subtle texture. I need to buy some to play with!

  • Rhonda Miller says:

I love your cards. Great papers and embellishments. I love how it can bring out what you’re embossing and give it a little more focus.

  • Cyn says:

I’m always drawn to Basic Grey when I’m looking for ribbons and I love what you’ve done with their products here! Diggin’ the size too :)

  • nora says:

ooo… these are rich and lovely. Great Job!

“a bevy of Valentine’s Day cards” is RIGHT! Wonderful!

  • Deloris says:

Fabulous Valentine cards! I know our troops will love them.

I have been working on my Christmas cards this week. Went crazy embossing a lot of the solid image stamps I have. I’m using lots of wonderful dark greens, rich reds and of course sparkly gold powders with a Versamark ink pad and they are turning out great.

  • Paula says:

I love your cards. The long shape is such a nice “canvas” for your designs. Well done!

  • Sandy says:

Love your cards!!! I love the long ones too…someone gave me a bunch of long gold envelopes that I’ve been saving to use for valentines – I’ll be using yours for inspiration!

Thanks for joining in the hop!

  • Anita says:

    Amazing cards!

    Hi Andrea
    Your cards are beautiful!!!

    Inky hugs!

  • What beautiful cards…you definately should be doing more of these as they are awesome!

My favorite thing about embossing powders is all of the colors available (or that I can mix on my own!). I LOVE to make medallion cards, so the EP makes it easier to keep my glitter or paint inside of the lines. I really love to see people open my cards & rub over the raised letters. They are amazed that I did this (& so easily!).

Thanks for helping out our soldiers!

  • Holly says:

What super cards, Andrea–your bevy of beauties will be a big hit with our heroes for sure!

And my favorite thing about embossing powder is you can use it to do cool stuff like the technique on the angel here: http://wp.me/pxMIi-9g

  • Very nice cards. I made a few cards in this size, too, for speical occassions for special persons. I felt good about that I was creative by doing something different.

I like using embossing powder on my creations. Especially with stamping and coloring. Once it is embossed it works nicer and easier. I love the gold embossing powder. As it is, it looks elegant.

  • Kathy Clark says:

I love your cards! This gives me some ideas….
I really like embossing powder-tho I don’t have too many yet. Yesterday I used some powder on paper leaves…then I put them around a candle and I got a cute centerpiece!

  • Aimee says:

Great cards and great blog, I’ve bookmarked it to peruse later :) I’m shockingly low on EP, lol!

  • Tammy says:

Wonderful cards today! Love all the papers you used! I use embossing powder on all my images that I watercolor! Boy, does it help keep the paint inside the lines!!

  • Shelley says:

This is such a heartening venture. Here in Canada, the painting guild I belong to also creates and sends cards for our troops. They range from painted, thru to stamped and embossed cards in every style imaginable and are received with great appreciation. It’s such a little thing we can do for our heroes!

  • Karen Howard says:

WOW, what a beautiful collection of Valentine cards… and what isn’t there to love about them… the patterned paper is just gorgeous, love the colors, the layouts and all the embellishments!!! TFS!

  • debb says:

Stunning cards- love your work! Love embossing powder too. I find it so great to show off that perfect stamp – then I can leave it plain or give it a bit of color with markers. I especially love it for watercoloring since the colors then don’t run outside the lines!

  • Dawna says:

What a lovely assortment of cards! The odd-sized cards are interesting! Your attention to detail is stunning.

  • Marcy K says:

Super cute cards! Thanks for supporting OWH!

  • Carmen O. says:

Your cards are fabulous! I love the longer cards, but get so stuck trying to fill all that space. Beautiful work!

I love the dimension wet embossing adds to a card/creation!

  • Greta says:

I’m only able to see the one card, but it’s great! The colors are perfect for a masculine card, something I always have trouble with. It’s fun to see a different size too.

(I am adverse to messy stuff so you don’t have to include me in the embossing powder drawing. Great prize for someone though!)

  • Donna says:

Beautiful cards! I love the size of these cards! Thank you for participating!

  • Erika Polley says:

I love the dimensions that embossing can give to a project. It just makes the images pop off the page!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful cards! I feed off other people’s creativity and think I’ll be very busy this week! Thanks!!

  • Cathy D. says:

OMG your cards are stunning! Embossing powder – what’s not to love? Right now I’m up to my elbows in making candles with the stuff. I only have a few colors…. Thanks for the opportunity to maybe expand my stash!

I’ve never used embossing powder before…just starting stamping and making cards. I LOVE your cards designed to fit the #10 envelopes!

  • kathy says:

Love embossing powder because when I use it, the cards look so professional. And it also outlines nicely for coloring. Your cards are gorgeous!

  • Totally love your cards! WOW they are gorgeous, and so much detail!! Very inspiring! I love to watch embossing powder heat up and become so different from what it was a moment ago!

  • Colleen McCauley says:

The paper on your valentine cards is wonderful! I love the pinks and browns. I only have about 5 jars of embossing power, but my favorite thing about it is watching the heat gun raise it up on the stamped image. It’s magical to me!
    Thanks for sharing

  • Carolyn says:

All of your cards are GORGEOUS!!! WOW!!! I know they are going to bring much joy to those fortunate enough to get their hands on them:o) Thank you for sharing your talent with all of us and for spreading such love to our troops so far from home!!!

Embossing powder intrigues me!!! I love how much more elegance and richness it can add to a card. Isn’t it cool to see a powder change into something completely different just by adding a little heat to it? Even my hubby likes to watch me create with EP. But, don’t tell him I told ya…I am almost certain he would deny it:o) Hahaha!!!

    Hugs!!
    Carolyn

  • Kas says:

Love the long cards, they look very elegant!
